Have You Thanked a Health Care Assistant Recently?

October 3, 2018 | News

You can thank a Health Care Assistant any time, but we really want you to show your appreciation on Health Care Assistants Day – October 18.

The 35,000 Health Care Assistants working across the province may have different job titles, including Home Support Worker, Care Aide, and Community Health Worker, but whatever their title they are the foundation of our health care system. They care for those who can’t care for themselves. And they are also the most likely occupation in health care to be injured on the job.

We need to take care of Health Care Assistants, so they can take care of others. It starts with showing our appreciation.

Download and print this poster, and share with your organization and the world why you’re thankful for Health Care Assistants. Get your staff, and even encourage your residents or clients and their families to do the same, to show their appreciation. Post these messages in your workplace and share on social media with the hashtag #HCAday2018.

Email us a photo of you and your words of appreciation to info@safecarebc.ca and we’ll share it with all SafeCare BC members.
