COVID-19 Update March 18

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry, and BC Minister of Health Adrian Dix provided an update today on COVID-19.


  • There have been 45 news cases of COVID-19 in BC, for a total of 231 cases. 13 of these are in hospital (six new hospitalizations over past day).
  •  Approximately, 17,000 tests have been done.
  • Self assessment tool, which is available on BC Centre for Disease Control’s website has seen almost one million visits.
  • Dr. Henry provided clarification on the self-isolation requirement for health care workers (see below)
  • She also urged British Columbians to continue to remain calm, kind and generous and askes everyone to take part in stopping the spread of the virus.
