Spotlight on New Staff – Frances Vu

SafeCare BC would like to welcome Frances Vu to the team as the Programs and Events Coordinator. Frances has a Health Sciences Degree from Simon Fraser University.
 
Q: What interested you about working at SafeCare?
The work that SafeCare does and the programs offered are what interested me in working for SafeCare, wanting to do my share and provide help in healthcare is what essentially led me to this role.Q: What excites you about your role?
I am excited to interact with different people and expand my knowledge in regard to occupational health and safety. I feel as though I can learn a lot and develop my skills.

Q: What was your first, or most unusual job?
My first job was in working as a seasonal sales associate at Hudson’s Bay.

Q: If given a chance, who would you be for a day?
If given a chance I would love to be my younger self, giving myself words of wisdom and what I could’ve done better.

Q: When not at work, what do you like doing in your spare time?
I like to learn how to cook new recipes, read books, hike, spend time with friends (pre-COVID) and workout whether it is at the gym or in an F45 high-intensity class.

Q: What book are you currently reading?
I am currently reading my textbooks for my graduate certificate in Child Life.

Q: What did you want to be growing up?
When I was younger I definitely wanted to be a doctor.

Q: What is one thing we don’t know about you?
One thing you don’t know about me was that back in university I was part of a sorority.
