Menno Place CEO Joins Board of BC Health Care Occupational Health and Safety Society

SafeCare BC member, Karen Biggs, and CEO of Menno Place (a campus of care in Abbotsford that serves 700 seniors with a staff of 675) is the long-term care affiliate representative on the inaugural Board of Directors for BC Health Care Occupational Health and Safety Society.

The recently formed organization brings together employers, unions, and physicians, who joined by the Ministry of Health, WorkSafeBC, as directors of the society. One of its values is collaboration and believes by working together we can realize greater improvements in worker health and safety.

To this end, as the long-term care affiliate representative, Karen will ensure this spirit of collaboration between the society and SafeCare BC serves the continuing care sector well. Karen has more than 41 years of experience in geriatric care and is the vice-president of the Board of Directors for the BC Care Providers Association and a director on the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce.
