Notice of SafeCare BC’s 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM)

SafeCare BC’s 2022 Annual General Meeting will take place virtually on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.

During the meeting, Board Chair Kerry Bowman and CEO Saleema Dhalla will be providing an update on SafeCare BC initiatives and highlights of the past year.
All SafeCare BC members are invited to attend. However, only designates of long-term care providers, home care providers and designated organizations as defined in the organization’s bylaws will be permitted to vote.

Relevant AGM documents will be posted on this page as they become available.

We request members to register for the AGM no later than 5 p.m. on March 29, 2021.

SafeCare BC Board Opportunities

 

SafeCare BC’s volunteer Board is comprised of industry and union leaders, who represent our members in long-term care and home and community care and support, along with representation from WorkSafeBC. If you or someone you know is passionate about health and safety and interested in working more closely with SafeCare BC, consider becoming a part of our board.

In the lead up to our 2022 Annual General Meeting (scheduled to take place virtually on March 31), SafeCare BC is taking nominations for four positions on the board.

 

  • At Large Director (Employer, Senior Leader – Homecare): The position of At Large Director (Employer) shall be an elected position limited to persons with a senior leadership role within an Association member organization providing homecare and support services. This position is a two-year term.

 

  • At Large Director (Frontline Worker – Homecare): The position of At Large Director (Frontline Worker) shall be an elected position with candidates limited to persons who are frontline workers actively employed in an Association member homecare and support services organization. This position is a two-year term.

 

  • Not-for-profit Employer Representative: The position of not-for-profit employer representative shall be an elected position with candidates limited to persons having a senior leadership role with a not-for-profit Association member organization providing long-term residential care. This position is a two-year term.

 

  • Human Resources Services Representative (non-voting): This representative shall be employed by a SafeCare BC member, have a human resource background, and be elected annually by the members at the annual general meeting. This position is a one-year term.

 

If you are interested in standing for the Board, or wish to nominate a potential Board Director, please send a completed Nomination Form, along with the nominee’s resume or CV, to board@safecarebc.ca by February 11.
