COVID-19: What you need to know today

The Ministry of Health announced that long-term care and assisted living operators are no longer required to collect COVID-19 vaccination information on residents and staff on an ongoing basis. The Provincial Health Order, issued last fall, will be repealed—you can read the updated order here. Effective March 4, the Ministry of Health will be removing all user access and decommissioning the portal.

This is because high vaccination rates and lower risk in the province mean the burden of this centralized reporting is no longer needed. However, operators can still use the information about the vaccination status of residents and staff to implement other PHO orders and for managing the transmission of COVID-19.
