Capsa Healthcare Impresses Safety Den Audience with NexysADC

SafeCare BC’s Safety Den—the Dragons’ Den-inspired health and safety competition—took place this past June at the BC Care Provider’s annual conference in Whistler. The show not only returned to a live audience, but also brought back a fan-favourite part of the competition: the commercial category.
Competing for the coveted Safety Innovation of the Year Award, commercial organizations across the province submitted their products and services to the show. While many entered, only three were chosen to attend the Safety Den and pitch their idea to the show’s judges, the Safety Dragons.
Capsa Healthcare was one of those three.
Capsa’s submission, the NexsysADC Automated Dispensing Cabinet, was selected by SafeCare BC for its ability to address one of the sector’s needs in a cost-effective way. The cabinet allows safe and secure storage of medication—without being prohibitively expensive to care homes.
On the day of the show, Capsa delivered a presentation that captured what Safety Den is all about: education and entertainment.
“Our three presenters had a blast. We schmoozed with the judges, wore matching t-shirts, tried to amuse the audience,” says Mark Nelson, Regional Manager, Western Canada at Capsa Healthcare. “We had fun with our delivery, but we also showed how NexsysADC prevents serious problems with medication management—especially narcotics. After Safety Den, we had so many people who saw our presentation visit our exhibit and tell us they were cheering for us to win. It made the effort all worth it.”
No matter the outcome, Safety Den gives organizations the opportunity to showcase their products directly to those who may need them. If your organization would like to join Capsa among the ranks of Safety Den finalists, you can submit to next year’s show.
