SafeCare BC CEO Saleema Dhalla has been appointed to the SWITCH BC Board of Directors

March 22, 2023

We are excited to share that Saleema Dhalla, CEO of SafeCare BC, has been appointed as the Affiliate Representative on the Board of Directors for SWITCH BC by the Healthcare Employers Association of British Columbia (HEABC).

SWITCH BC was established in 2021 to promote Safety, Wellbeing, Innovation, Training, and Collaboration across the healthcare system and aims to standardize health and safety guidelines across the healthcare sector by collaborating with employers, unions, and physician representatives.

SafeCare BC has been a provider of health and safety education and training for healthcare workers and employers in long-term care, community care, assisted and independent living, and for students who enter the sector since 2014. We are committed to creating healthy workplaces through evidence-based education and training that supports frontline staff and leadership teams.

Through the work of SWITCH BC, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to inform the standards that lay the foundation for healthy workplaces. We are committed to informing these standards on behalf of our membership and integrating best practices into our resources, education, and training to continue to be a valuable support for the sectors we work with.

We represent not-for-profit, denominational health, and for-profit care homes and home care support. We are proud to have unions, employers, and frontline workers on the SafeCare BC Board of Directors representing these critical areas of the healthcare sector.

As your representative on SWITCH BC’s Board of Directors, we encourage you to share your workplace health and safety ideas, best practices, and innovative solutions with us so that we can represent our sector in provincial standards.

We would also like to express our gratitude to our partners, including HEABC, SWITCH BC, HEU, BCGEU, all regional health authorities, and our members for their continued support.
